25 Sep Steel Forum Conference Photography | Sofitel Budapest, Hungary
Each year, professionals from the steel industry come together to discuss the latest trends and innovations at their annual conference. This year’s event took place at the Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge, an ideal venue in the picturesque heart of Hungary’s capital.
Quartz Business Media Ltd., a UK-based leader in organizing business exhibitions and conferences and the publisher of Steel Times International, commissioned me to capture the two-day event as a photographer regularly working in Budapest. The conference brought together a diverse group of attendees, including steelmakers, plant builders, AI specialists, academics, and consultants, all gathered to explore the cutting-edge developments in modern steel manufacturing.
The Future Steel Forum focused on Industry 4.0 and its pivotal role in steelmaking. Attendees had the opportunity to hear from the world’s leading experts on topics such as machine learning, green steel, smart factories, new business models, cyber security, and more.
My role was to document the conference, capturing dynamic shots of speakers, the audience, and the engaging atmosphere. During breaks, I photographed the exhibition area, highlighting networking opportunities, booth displays, and attendees.
This project was both fascinating and rewarding, as it offered insight into the fast-evolving steel industry. My photos were also published in Steel Times International, the magazine serving the steel industry since 1866, adding an extra layer of significance to this assignment.
