25 Sep Steel Forum Conference Photography | Sofitel Budapest, Hungary
Every year steel industry professionals gather to hold their yearly conference on the industry’s latest trends. This year Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge was the location for their annual meeting, which proved to be an ideal location in the picturesque downtown of Hungary’s capital. Quartz Business Media Ltd., a UK-based company hired me to photograph the event; it is a leading organizer of business exhibitions and conferences, the publisher of Steel Times International. My job was to take photos of the two-day event showcasing numerous speakers. Steelmakers, plant builders, AI specialists, academics, consultants, they were all in the Sofitel Hotel at the center of the Hungarian capital to learn more about the most exciting, challenging and fast-moving aspect of modern steel manufacturing. Future Steel Forum is clearly focused on the subject of Industry 4.0 and its relevance to the steelmaking process. Attendees were able to hear from the world’s leading experts on high-tech steelmaking on a whole range of subjects including: machine learning, green steel, smart factories, new business models, cyber security and plenty more. I was photographing all the speakers during the conference’s two days, including the audience, as well. During breaks there was exhibition time, which was a great opportunity for networking. I also took photos of the booths and its attendees. It was a very interesting project, the photos were also published in Steel Times International, the magazine that serves the steel industry since 1866.
