Event Photography at an International Conference in Copenhagen
As the official photographer for the TradeWinds Ship Recycling Forum 2024 in Copenhagen, I was hired by DN Media Group, renowned for its leading publications in business, shipping, seafood, and energy. My role was to comprehensively document the event’s key moments and overall atmosphere. Hosted at the historic Axelborg Hall, the forum brought together industry leaders to discuss critical topics in ship recycling.
Throughout the two days, I focused on capturing high-quality close-ups of each speaker during their presentations, ensuring that key moments and expressions were well-documented. Wide-angle shots of panel discussions and the full ballroom provided a sense of the event’s scale and professionalism. Additionally, I aimed to capture candid long shots from behind the audience, showing the engagement and attentive participation of delegates.
Networking was a significant aspect of the forum, so I paid special attention to photographing interactions between attendees—smiling faces, meaningful conversations, and moments of connection. The evening dinners offered further opportunities to capture the relaxed, social side of the event. The first night’s dinner at HC Andersen Castle provided an elegant, historic backdrop, while the second evening at Dhaba Indian Kitchen showcased a vibrant atmosphere with authentic Indian cuisine. Both settings were ideal for highlighting the forum’s blend of business and camaraderie.
Throughout the event, I provided same-day images, allowing the client to share highlights on social media instantly. The remaining photos were edited back at my studio. This ensured TradeWinds received a comprehensive visual collection that captured the energy, professionalism, and collaborative spirit of this significant industry gathering.
